Radio Bremen - General Planning of the Broadcasting Systems

Studio Hamburg MCI was planning the technical media fixtures for Radio Bremen’s new facilities. An innovative new media center with four radio units and two television studios was going up in the Stephanien District.

A unique, triple-media collaboration is going to bring about a fusion of radio, television and internet presence.

To achieve this, a uniform, cross-media editing system and archive was employed for these divisions.

MCI has first hand experience with the parallelism of the procedures, so it can easily identify with the public broadcaster’s ideas and goals. By using common resources and synergies and having the individual divisions come together, MCI, the general contractor, can guarantee the client a streamlined and successful business model.

The radio broadcasting units each received a broadcast control room, a voiceover booth, a layout control room and various editorial broadcasting desks. The preproduction control rooms and an emergency back-up control room are used in a cross-frequency manner.

The televisions studios are equipped with an audio/video control room. Furthermore, there is also a production center with a versatile media event studio and connecting control room for audio, video, and radio productions. There are also two media production rooms and edit bays in this section. The production center will also be rented out in part for external productions.
